Weekend recap and stuff.
I know I’ve been pretty absent around here lately (five posts this month?!), and I think I’ve figured out why the blogging juices haven’t been flowing. It’s because my brain is gearing up for next Monday, which is–UNBELIEVABLY–the first of November, which is Day 1 of NaBloPoMo. I did it last year and I’m determined to do it again this year. So bear with me for this last week of October, and get excited (or scared?) for THIRTY CONSECUTIVE DAYS OF TABITHA.
In other news, I had a really great weekend. Friday night, Joe and I had a few people over for a potluck game night (thus completing item #35 on my list), which was a total success. We fired up the panini maker and served a variety of Italian deli meats with provolone cheese and sourdough bread. Our guests brought pasta salad, spinach salad, and cookies (those ones that are soft peanut butter cookies with a Hershey’s Kiss stuck on top — yum!), and I also made this:
Saturday I made a gourmet breakfast of hard boiled eggs, and Joe and I vegged around most of the day. Then around 4:00 I convinced Joe to take me out to the city college track, since the weather was finally clear enough that we were pretty sure it wouldn’t rain, and GUESS WHAT?! I ran two miles. Outdoors. For the first time ever. AND I did it at a pace of 10:21 per mile, which is 5.8 MPH. You guys…I did NOT know I had that in me. Anyway, more on that in another post, maybe.
Sunday we brought my grandma with us to church, since my aunt and uncle (who normally take her to their church) were out of town. It was nice to get to show her our church home, and she seemed to enjoy it. Later that afternoon, I laid down to take a quick nap, then woke up about four hours later. Apparently I was a little wiped out, eh?
But anyway, in a nutshell, my weekend was splendid. I have to admit, though, that I’ve been eating REALLY badly as of late. Chalk it up to the fact that I worked out FIVE TIMES in seven days, but I need to work on controlling myself, because it’s no fun seeing a weight gain after working out so hard for a week, ya know?
I’ll try to be back at least once more between now and Day 1 of NaBloPoMo, but we’ll see what happens. In the meantime, tell me:
1. Are you participating in NaBloPoMo this year?
2. What would you like to see here during my 30 days of blogging?

That sounds like a lovely weekend, Tabitha, and yay for the 2 miles on the track and the 4 hour nap on Sunday!
I’ll join you in attempting NaBloPoMo next month. I’ve been doing it for the last, oh, 4 years or so and I am hoping I’l lbe able to do it (because my blogging juices are seriously dried up right now… eeek.).
In order to help you with some blogging inspiration, I’d be really interested to see some of your 365 project photos (always good filler posts
) and I’d love to just simply learn more about you. (Anything!)
I was thinking about NaBloPoMo, was actually going to ask if you were going to do it this year. I think I might try– get my blogging juices flowing again. I could also pre-write some posts this week, for days when I will simply not have the time to sit down and write a whole post. Are there any themes to follow on particular days, or do you just write whatever you like for 30 days straight?
As for what to write– I’d really be interested in your in-depth take on some issues. Like your thoughts on the stuff Pastor Jim is currently talking about in his new series. Or your thoughts on stuff like relationships and marriage. You know– the “deeper” stuff many of us just don’t get into on our blogs
I plan on getting into some of that, myself (already have a few general ideas swirling around) but would love to see other people’s points of views
I think I’m going to give NaNoBloPoMo a shot… never done it before, but with the way I ramble, I figure it shouldn’t be too hard
Whoops. I added some extra letters in there. Oopsies.
I am NaBloPoMoing. I am a bit worried about finding some content…but we shall see!
woo hoo for thirty days of tabitha!!
And seriously? Two miles? That’s fantastic!
I would do NaBloPoMo, but we all know I couldn’t possibly keep it up that long… I would end up with ten regular posts and twenty posts that consist of random baby pictures and various letters and symbols that my daughter typed for me with her feet
I am so PROUD of you for doing two miles, especially averaging at 10 mins per mile. I’m slowly getting a bit faster; I’m about 12 mins per mile now but I still haven’t been able to get past ONE lol…
Yay for your potluck games night! We had one at Thanksgiving and it was the best, glad you had such fun and were able to cross something off your list.
Good luck for November… I’ll read every day!
that cake looks gorgeous!
i want to do this NaBloPoMo. If we could vlog everyday in August we could blog everyday in November!
Hooray for two miles outside!! That’s fantastic! I only made it to the gym once last week and have been eating horribly. It’s almost a new month though!
I am not participating in NaBloPoMoFo this year, I did it a few times on my last blog but just don’t have it in me this year. I’m still recovering from VEDA!
(Speaking of, I have not done a single vlog since August. Whoops.)
