I want to give you something!
I don’t know about you, but I really like getting stuff in the mail that isn’t bills or junk mail or credit card offers. I also really like sending stuff in the mail…
The thing is, I am apparently devoid of follow-through. I hate to confess this, but there have been so many times I’ve promised, or at least alluded, that I would send someone “a little something” in the mail, and then just never done it. (I am also really terrible at sending thank-you notes when I receive gifts, although thanks to Joe, we DID manage to get out all our thank-yous for our wedding gifts within the first three months of our marriage.)
But I’ve been on this whole sticking-to-things-I-plan-to-do kick (weight loss, taking an online class, progressing with my 101 in 1001 list — and, hopefully, this new Project 365 thing…), so I figure it’s time to take another shot at Mission: Snail Mail. (I totally just made that name up…don’t judge me.)
So I played around with Google’s form creator (which is awesome, bee tee dubs) and I put together a simple little page where you can all kinda “register” to be sent something in the mail by yours truly, at some point in the near future. I’m hoping to get at least one thing sent out to each person in the next month, but it will depend on how many people actually sign up. I’ll do it in the order in which y’all signed up, to be fair, so get on over there and fill it out!
Here’s a little preview of what the form looks like (see how pretty and not at all intimidating it is?), and if you click the picture, it’ll take you right to the actual form. (Isn’t the internet COOL? #nerdalert)
Possible things I might send you include, but are not limited to:
->Postcards
->Scribbled notes on scratch paper
->Fancy schmancy Hallmark cards
->Stickers
->Confetti
->Post-its
->Bookmarks
->Recipes
->Doodles
->A couple of random playing cards
->Printouts of my blog posts (in case you missed it)
->Used Kleenex
->My latest gas station receipt
And, okay, I’m kidding about those last few. I was just trying to think of two-dimensional things, and it started to get progressively sillier and sillier. But hey, I’m not opposed to sending the occasional three-dimensional package, either…because you’re worth it. (Totally off-topic aside: What’s the cosmetic line with that slogan? Cover Girl? Maybelline? Uhh…oh yeah! L’Oréal!)
I’m also hoping, a little further down the road, to become much better at sending birthday and anniversary cards (it’s item #28 on my list!), so this little form will put YOU in the rotation for that plan once it comes to fruition!
Anyway, I think this will be a really fun way to connect with you, my wonderful blogosphere friends, with a different medium than we usually interact on. Plus: seriously, who doesn’t love getting mail that isn’t bills or junk mail or credit card offers?
So, do it! I promise, cross my heart and hope for pie* that I will NOT stalk you. ALSO for the record, since I have some people who read this via facebook and don’t necessarily have blogs — it’s okay! This is open to all my pals, blog or no blog. Sign on up, one and all.
Oh, and in case you missed it, another great blogger, the DC Princess herself, is starting up a similar project where she’s hoping to get a bunch of postcards flying around all over the place! Check it out…but not until after you’ve filled out my form. *wink wink*
*I don’t like saying, “Cross my heart and hope to die,” so doesn’t “hope for pie” just sound so much more lovely?

Well now, this is a fun idea!
I love to get snail mail, and I should be better about sending it out.
What a great idea! I used Google Forms to make a list of my blogging friends’ birthdays. Quite cool, eh?
LOVE the idea of starting a snail mail chain. I see them pop up every now and then, but I’ve never signed up for one.
I loved your little form when I saw it yesterday!
So pretty. I love snail mail!
I signed up, and I can’t wait!
There is NOTHING better than snail mail. Period. I live for snail mail.
Mission: Snail Mail is ON! And I promise, I’ll write you back
This is such a fun idea! I’m also TERRIBLE about correspondence (even email!) but I love the idea of a sort of “pen pal”…when you write me, I’ll write you back! (Maybe I’ll even put it on my work-in-progress 101 in 1001!)
I love snail mail! But I’m not that good at sending stuff either.
Oh, how I love getting (and sending!) fun things in the mail. Thanks for setting this up, Tabitha!!!
You rock.
And I can’t wait until we meet.
Plus you’re so fun and you make me laugh.
All good things
