Confessions
July 27, 2010
I always love it when Nora shares her Confessions, and I’m finally stealing the idea. Here we go: Tabitha’s confessions, volume one.
***
- Yesterday, while I was on the treadmill listening to my “Workout Mix” station on Pandora, this song (well, the original, not the Glee version) came on, and I couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear and run just a little faster. Yes, I am a dork.
- For some reason, I get a lot less perturbed when people incorrectly use “its” instead of “it’s” than I do when they use “it’s” instead of “its.”
- What I mean is that this…
“I am so sad that its only Monday.”
…is admittedly a tad bit irksome, but THIS…
“I can’t wait for the sun to show it’s shining face again.”
…is BAD EVIL UGLY GETITAWAYFROMME!!
- What I mean is that this…
- The only reason I might ever consider reading the Twilight series is just to be “in” on the whole thing, but I really have exactly ZERO interest in it. Even less so when it comes to the movie versions.
- I am about to start watching the last season of Gilmore Girls, for about the tenth time in my life, and even though I love it, I’m kind of looking forward to finishing the show again so I can get on with other things. (Deja vu…have I already mentioned this in a recent post? Yes, yes I have.)
- I have NO idea what to get Joe for our first anniversary. Ideas, suggestions, tips? Email them to me (rather than commenting, so that Joe won’t see)! { tabitha[dot]blog[at]gmail[dot]com }
- Even though I am doing a pretty good job at this whole “healthy lifestyle” thing — exercising regularly, eating balanced and properly-portioned meals — I feel like there will always be this little voice inside me that says, “As soon as you hit your goal weight/fitness level, you will immediately backpedal and go right back to weighing 170 pounds and eating like a HEFFA.” That little voice is what sometimes holds me back from reaching my smaller, weekly-type goals; I figure, if I never quite reach my goal, I will always have motivation to strive toward it…if that makes sense.
- I loved reading the first four Harry Potter books (years ago), but I got stuck on the fifth and haven’t given it another chance. I might suck it up and do it, just so that I can catch up on the movies, which I refuse to see until I’ve read the corresponding books.
- I get kind of jealous of other bloggers, namely for:
- a) their “popularity” or readership;
- b) their close proximity to other bloggers;
- and c) their ability to make a brilliant blog post out of darn near ANYTHING.
- I’ve had the Double Rainbow song stuck in my head for DAYS…and I’m kind of okay with that. (Also, this? is adorable.)
- In addition to stealing this “Confessions” themed post from Nora, I am also very tempted to steal her “Who Knew” theme, and maybe even her “Open Letters” theme. I half considered trying to blend all three into one post…but my brain is SO not up to speed for that kind of thing today.
- I am totally into the two MOST RIDICULOUS shows on television right now, both on ABC Family: The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Pretty Little Liars. It’s a serious problem. I’m even reading the Pretty Little Liars book series just to get the full experience. (And the books? Not that spectacular, either. But fun.)
- I ate a custard-filled, chocolate-iced donut this morning. Why? Because it was there. (So much for that healthy lifestyle, eh? Hey, I didn’t say I was doing a perfect job, just a “pretty good” job…)
- I think I’ve had more inspiration for my In It to Gym It posts lately than these posts here…if that wasn’t already painfully obvious.
- BUT, I have some beginnings of ideas that are forming, so maybe, just maybe, things will start to get more exciting around here.
- And even though it probably sounds like I’m all kinds of disappointed in myself over the lack of great posts, I really don’t feel that bad about it. Life is good, and I’m living it. The main reason I want to get back into better blogging habits is so that I can look back and remember all the good things that are happening.
- Which is also why, today, I am officially starting the “Project 365“ thing, where you take a photo every day for a year. I won’t be posting these on the blog daily (cue the collective sigh of relief), but I might feature one here and there if the mood strikes. If all goes according to plan, I will upload daily photos to my flickr page, in case you’re interested.
- And, final confession: I totally stole the 365 idea from Ev’Yan (who recently completed her Project 365) as well as Doniree and the other girls who are all starting theirs this week. I know, I am a total idea thief.

All I have to say about Project 365 is that you’d better be posting them somewhere! I want to see your pictures
I love that you’re an idea thief.
I own the last season of Gilmore Girls BUT I can’t stand to watch it because even though I know it happens and it won’t change, I get incredibly sad when Logan/Rory end things. Like I cry. So I have watched UP TO that part, but not the whole thing. Dorky, isn’t it!?
Aww I can’t see the song ’cause it’s blocked in Canada
But if it was on Glee then it’s already awesome.
Also? Totally with you on not finishing Harry Potter (I have 6 and 7 to go before the movie comes out in November…. I refuse to be the only one in the cinema who screams OUT LOUD at the scary bits again because I was the only one who hadn’t read them!). And blogger jealousy. And Twilight. And poor spelling and grammar!

I don’t see what you have to be jealous about– you have wayyy more readers and commenters than I do
But I feel ya– I get the same way, though in my case it’s mostly nostalgia. I used to have a core set of readers who made the comment section more fun than the original post itself. I used to have inspiration out the wazoo, and be able to write posts out of nothing… I think mostly because I knew I HAD readers who would read and appreciate. These days, even when I have ideas, it’s hard to muster up motivation to write something nobody will read, anyway.
I did the Project 365 thing 3 years ago. Or, I tried. It fizzled out after 2 months. After a while it became difficult to find new and unique things to photograph. I know a guy who did a 365 blog but with one twist: it was all photos of himself. Interesting idea, but who wants to look at the same face every day for a year?
Anyway, good luck keeping a longer streak!
I think I might need to post my own confessions some time… but I wanted to let you know that I do agree with you on Twilight (books and movies – who cares?), the blogger jealousy (I can’t even find time to think about blog ideas, let alone write them out
).
The 365 project is exciting… I’ve been contemplating it myself. I might just join you
I’m also definitely jealous of those bloggers who can pull an absolutely brilliant blog post out of their you-know-what.
Oh, and another thing: Don’t feel bad about being into Secret Life. I know it’s one of the more craptastic shows on TV, but I CAN’T SEEM TO STOP WATCHING.
I definitely get off my blogging mojo sometimes. I’m either on or off — rarely in between. Some bloggers are just so on it’s intimidating.
Good luck on your Project 365!
1. Gilmore Girls is my favoritest show ever (even if the last two seasons sucked balls). I have watched the whole series about 5 times.
2. Pretty Little Liars is fucking addictive, right?? I’ve watched every episode and read every book but the last one so far. I’m waiting for it to come in at the library!
3. I get jealous of other bloggers, too. I’ll read someone else’s blog and be like, “What the fuck? My blog is just shit compared to this.”
4. I also love Harry Potter. Love, love, love. You should definitely read the rest of the books. Totally worth it.
Stay FAR away from Twilight. I was tricked, duped, hoodwinked into reading the first one after being told it was a vampire story. (Which is, as you may know, FALSE.)
DO finish Harry Potter! I did not struggle to finish them, but will at least say I think they are well worth the effort. (Though the 6th movie was a big fat let down.)
Don’t feel bad for thinking other bloggers have come up with good ideas. I’d argue most of us have gotten inspiration from other bloggers at some point or another. Unless there’s a copyright on their idea or unless you’re stealing their words, there’s nothing wrong with doing something similar.
My confession – today is going to be a tough day at work. My head just isn’t in it. Leaving for vacation after work does that to a girl!
twilight wasn’t THAT painful. just remember that it’s geared toward 14 year olds. the story isn’t TERRIBLE, the execution isn’t GREAT, but you can plow through all four in about 2 days. seriously.
JAMES AND I SAW A DOUBLE RAINBOW A FEW DAYS AGO!!! WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!?!
i could NOT do something like project 365. i’d forget a whole WEEK, i’m sure. maybe someday when i’m older, wiser, more responsible… things like that.
good luck with everything and i’m glad that you’re LIVING life and ENJOYING it and not sitting at compy screen trying to come up with something that shows you have an interesting life.
I’ve had the double rainbow song stuck in my head for days too!! Please send help.
I confess today that I have developed some feelings for an old boyfriend who is currently separated from his wife and filing for divorce. I confess that I am tempted to (attempt to) start a relationship with him out of my own selfishness. I have managed to keep these feelings to myself, and I only hope they go away soon before I am left heartbroken. I also confess that I get angry with God for not bringing someone else into my life that doesn’t have the two failed marriages and two children like this guy does. That’s my confession for the day, ladies.
Oh my god, the its/it’s thing drives me INSANE. I truly don’t understand why it’s so hard for people to grasp that concept. ARRRRRGGGGGH.
I will never, EVER read Twilight. I love all things vampire, but Twilight doesn’t count. Plus, her writing is horrible. HORRIBLE. I read “The Host” for my book club last year and was bored out of my mind. How did she ever get published?
You must finish the Harry Potter series!!! The movies are awesome, but the books are sooo much better.
I personally like to pretend the last season of Gilmore Girls never existed. I just make up my own ending.
