Friday Love
Today I’m deciding to focus on love. Today is National Wear Red Day, where people all over the country don red shirts/shoes/dresses/whatever in support of the fight against heart disease, which is the #1 health threat for women. Not only am I wearing red today, but I’m also going to be eating juicy red strawberries at a work-sponsored luncheon today. Yum!
Anyway, I thought I’d make today’s post love-themed, so here we go!

I think by now, most people in the 20-something blogosphere have heard about the awesomeness that is the Love Harder campaign. But have you read the blog? Well, for the first two weeks of February (which, yeah, I know, started almost a week ago), a few crafty people are promoting their stuff with special deals, and are donating a portion of proceeds to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
And guess what?
I’m one of them! Yeah, I FINALLY got my act together (a little) and listed a few Valentiney things in my etsy shop. Go here for details on all the great Love Harder specials going on! Oh, and if you don’t like any of the measly three items I’ve listed, stay tuned because I’m hoping to put up a few more things soon.

Have you heard about Ashalah‘s “Be My (Blog) Valentine” project? Well, I signed up (even though, in retrospect, I think it might’ve been geared more toward single people?), and I’m excited to send a little something to my secret valentine. But I need some ideas! What cute/fun/silly things can I mail that won’t get wrecked or smelly or squished, and also cost me less than $20?
And if you happen to be visiting here because you got ME as your valentine? Ooh! I’m so excited. Anything you send me will probably make me squeal with glee. If you need ideas, though, here are a couple of things I love:
- Bookmarks
- Fun/unique card decks
- Hair pretties
- Monogrammed stationery (“C”)
- Journals
- 4×6 Recipe cards
- Surprise me!

One of my newest bloggy pals from Only One Way Down told us recently about a little girl, Ella, who is going through some pretty tough medical issues. She’s eight months old, and could really use some prayers of love, healing and peace for her family through this incredibly trying ordeal. Updates will be posted here as news comes in.

And lastly, this week Amy shared a great, thought-provoking post about saying, “I love you.” I think you should read it.

Happy Friday!

Hee… I’m sitting here wondering why your stationery would be monogrammed with “C” and not “T”… and then it hit me. Duh!!
Love the jewelry – at the risk of sounding cheesy, go you!
Thanks for the Ella shoutout! I appreciate your support
I wore red today too and strawberries sound all sorts of wonderful right now. Even better if they were covered in chocolate. I’m very excited about Be My Blog Valentine, its how I met Nora last year! (Which reminds me, I owe you an email, sending it ASAP.) Have a great weekend!
Girl, I am LOVING your etsy stuff!
I’m totally going to check out the Valentine project!
I’m going to be posting about things love-related soon – I’m part of ItStartsWith.Us and read yesterday about the “Love Bombs” project, where we’ll all band together and “bomb” someone going through a tough time with love; letters, blog comments, that sort of thing, for a day. There’s going to be multiple projects throughout the year and I think it’s a wonderful idea!
