Open Letters to some people and stuff.
Dear coffee,
Crap. I love you again. But apparently you still hate me, because I’ve been a lot more acidy lately. I hadn’t been able to put my finger on why that was (or maybe I was in denial) until I downed the rest of my skinny cinnamon dolce latte this morning and within two minutes felt that familiar burning in my esophagus.
Why can’t we be friends, coffee? Especially after the last two nights of staying up until 2 AM, I could really use a friend like you. But alas…you’re a jerk. So maybe I will have to resolve to only hang out with you once a week. Or maybe I can get a smaller fix of caffeine with, say, chai tea?
I just can’t take all the hatin’, man.

Dear Monster.com, Craigslist and other job-inquiry sites,
Please work with me here. All I want is the perfect job with the perfect pay and benefits and the perfect location. Is that so much to ask?

Dear fabulous jewelry I made last night,
While I loved feeling so accomplished and creative, this whole keeping-me-up-past-1-AM could start to become a problem. How do you make the clock spin around so quickly so that I’m utterly oblivious to the fact that four hours have passed?
And how can I channel that special ability to apply it to the hours between 8 AM and 5 PM?
***
Dear KitchenAid mixer I have only used twice,
I’m sorry. I’m really, really sorry. Someday I’ll become a domestic goddess, and we will get acquainted.
Someday.

Dear blog of mine,
You’re swell. I think I’ll keep you.

Dear strange Lean Cuisine meal I’ve never tried before,
Please don’t suck.
Update: It kind of did suck. But my acidic esophagus wasn’t feeling any sort of food, anyway, so meh.

Kitchenaid. Do it. Be my Kitchenaid adventure buddy.
Haha – I SO want to! Your posts about Ulla are seriously making me feel like I’m missing out. I just can’t figure out how to reconcile the fact that Hubs and I are trying to lose weight, the fact that I need about 13 more hours in the day, and the fact that frappin’ APU is where most of my money is going right now (stinky loans), so I haven’t bought flour or sugar or anything in ages. But it’ll happen. In fact, the first thing I’ll do is probably make your sugar cookiessince they looked so dang tasty.
I’m RIGHT there with ya with the job search thing!
Cute blog
I’d love a Kitchen Aid, but I probably wouldn’t use it much, either!
I’ve been having to get my caffeine fix via tea also… boo. The only way I like it is if I add a TON of cream, which can’t be healthy!!
I bought a kitchenaid over a year ago, my life hasnt been the same since. Best investment ever, probably even better than my student loans. I went to the kitchenaid factory (its about 4 hours away from me in OH) last summer. Amazing.
And I would love a job like that too.
I have the same issues with coffee and craigslist and Monster. If they would just post real jobs and not spam or scams, I would feel like we compromised.
Very creative post.
I SO feel you on the job hunt!
My letter to coffee would look more like this:
Dear coffee,
you taste so good. But you make me crazy and give me migraines…
It was nice knowing you,
D.
So, the real question is what really keeps you up at night: coffee or jewelry. You seem to have a confusion over why you’re staying up into the wee hours. =)
Haha — Well, in the coffee letter, I meant that because I had stayed up late the last two nights, I needed coffee to help me the next day. But the reason for being up late was the jewelry.
Some Lean Cuisine meals really do stink. And it’s so annoying when they do because that’s all you have for lunch. Nothing worse than when that happens. I am in *LOVE* with the SmartOne Chicken Quesadillas; I think half the world is because they are hard to find. i do love the Lean Cuisine Cesear Chicken Pasta one… it’s pretty tasty. Just have a mint on hand as it contains garlic
I could write similar notes to many of the kitchen appliances I’ve acquired over the past five years!
hahaha!!!
i like it.
Dear Tabitha,
There is a fine job opening in The Kitchen. Job requirements include: barefoot; pregnant.
Sincerely,
