Goal #91: Spreading some love.

December 4, 2009

I’m really enjoying looking for opportunities to complete the things on my 101 in 1001 list. (I hope it doesn’t bore you guys when I talk about it, though!)

Today, I’m mailing off a card to one of my former co-workers at the church where Joe and I got married, who has recently been diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Disease. In some ways, the diagnosis is a blessing for her, because she’s been going through so many weird physical issues over the last several years, and now it all makes a lot more sense. But, from what I’ve read of the prayer updates I get via email, her treatments are causing her to feel flu-ish and crummy.

This woman is such a trooper, and such a strong, selfless woman of God. She’s always putting others first, and the work she has done in her two years at the church has made a MAJOR impact on the church family and community. Her biggest concern whenever she gets sick is that she won’t be able to come to work to take care of all the things she manages.

Anyway, I’m sending her a little card, and a photo from our wedding. Because honestly, if it weren’t for her hard work around the church facility, we would never have considered getting married there. And I am SO glad that we did, because it was perfect.

I just hope and pray for healing and rest for this amazing woman, and that her spirits would remain (as they always have been) cheery and peaceful. And I hope that this card will brighten her day just a little bit.

That’s really lovely, and I’m sure it’s going to bring a huge smile to her day :)

I know that when I’m having a bad day (not the same as being chronically ill, I know) getting any kind of snail mail makes my day. Bonus if it is from someone I like and double bonus if it includes a picture!
