Truth Humpday: The FAIL Edition.

September 23, 2009

Oops…Mom reminded me that I forgot (again) to do my Truth Tuesday post yesterday. So today we’re calling it Truth HumpDay (and praising the LOOOOORRRD that we’ve made it halfway through this ridiculously dragging week).

The answer to last week’s edition is #2 — While I was in marching band in high school, I never forgot my instrument for a performance. I’m not THAT much of a slacker.

#1 and #3 are both true; I really don’t remember much Spanish, but ask me to recite the first spiritual law en EspaƱol and I’ll say, “Dios le ama, y tiene un plan maravilloso para su vida.” And, sadly, I’m getting really terrible at remembering people’s names, and I really did used to be FREAKISHLY good about it.

Who got it right this week: Nora! And Kris (via facebook). Congrats!

Moving on to this week’s late-again round of TT… This time it’s the FAIL Edition, subtitled: Things I Suck At. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to pick out the one item that I do NOT, in fact, suck at.

We already know that I suck at posting “Truth Tuesday” on, you know…Tuesdays. Now you’ve got to determine what else I suck at. Ready?

  1. I suck at running…but I’m actually not too shabby on the elliptical machine.
  2. I suck at remembering to call or email people back in a timely manner…but I almost always DO call or email back eventually.
  3. I suck at singing harmony when the lead vocalist is male…but if the lead is a female, I can find harmonies pretty easily.

There you have it. Guess away, and I will try REALLY hard to get the answers up next Tuesday…for real this time.

I won again!? Woohoo! (Happy Dancing at my desk, for real!)

You do NOT suck at #2.

The week is dragging. All I want to do is go home, exercise and read my books. Is that SO wrong?

I have to say– WordPress SUCKS at keeping its RSS feed up-to-date. I just now got the udpate. Every WordPress blog I subscribe to is inevitably HOURS behind. Grrr….

    I’m gonna guess #3.
On that note, it was refreshing to actually be able to HEAR you guys this past Sunday. I always found it ridiculous that your sound had always been turned down so low in the past. What’s the point of having backup singers if you can’t hear them harmonize!? Might as well have the lead vocalist go solo for all we could hear from where we sit! (as you can tell, I’ve always been a little touchy about the sound quality at our church, and I dread even more hearing it when we move)

I echo your 1 & 2 also. I don’t know why I can go for 45 minutes on an elliptical but cannot run for more than 3 minutes straight!

About 3 though… I canNOT sing to save my life. My tack is to just crank the music loud enough to drown me out (or make myself deaf enough not to hear how bad I sound!).

    Hey Girl!!

Thanks so much for your encouraging words. It’s good to hear, especially from someone with the same beliefs and values who has actually made it! Lol.

Everything you said is very true, and are things I really know and have heard before. But the way you said them actually made me feel better and felt really encouraging.

This whole waiting-til-marriage thing is rough, especially the older I get. I do wonder if I’ll be able to make it sometimes! Lol

Thanks again, have a blessed day! XoXo

I’m pretty sure #1 is true (because I can relate…even though I don’t have an elliptical to walk/run on any more). You are a great singer, so I’m going to say #2 is a lie.

What in the world?! My logic was totally off in my above reply.
