Chick Flick Sunday
I haven’t seen my fiance since Thursday, and man do I miss him! Friday I had the day off of work, so I went down to LA to do some more wedding finalizations, then hung out with my soon-to-be in-laws…it was a wonderful day! But I was missing Joe before noon, so imagine how I’m feeling now, two days later, still not having seen him yet. (Hint: I’m literally pouting right now.) But this weekend Joe is doing his bachelor party thing, so I’m sure he is having a blast with his guys, and I’m super happy for that. Anyway, while Joe was off at the shooting range and doing who knows what other shenanigans yesterday, I spent the day with Megan and took her as my date to the wedding of one of my old college roommates. Beautiful wedding, plus I also got to see another old roommate who has been in MONGOLIA for the last two years. That. Was. Fabulous.
Anyway, today I came back up to Santa Barbara because I had arranged to get rid of my overstuffed chair and ottoman and the girl who bought it from me (via craigslist) wanted to come this afternoon for it. So I got home around 10 this morning, straightened up my room and cleared space for the chair to be moved out…then I thought about going to the beach, but it was kinda overcast. Instead, I almost started moping around and wishing I could call Joe (who is on day TWO of the bachelor-party funness), but then I thought: what could I do today that Joe wouldn’t mind missing out on? And the obvious answer was, of course: chick flick marathon.
That’s right. Today, I have watched THREE chick flicks already, and I’m on the fourth. I’ve only taken breaks to deal with the chair moving, and checking out some possible father-daughter dance songs (cuz, yeah, my wedding is thirteen days away and I STILL have no idea what we’re going to dance to). Anyway, so far I’ve watched:
You’ve Got Mail
The Notebook
13 Going on 30
…and I’m currently watching As Good As It Gets. I’m thinking after this I might grab some dinner, then watch Elizabethtown and call it a night. But we’ll see…I might have to go for SIX chick flicks. Oh, and the best part? I found out that Cari watched 13 Going on 30 a the same time I did today! So we were almost hanging out. Yay!
Anyway, all this girly fun has been great, but I gotta confess: I still really miss Joe! I can’t wait to see him again.

Best movies ever! Although, I can only watch The Notebook if I’m already planning to cry my eyes out, and need an acceptable excuse
You named four of the movies that I LOVE. I watched The Notebook late on Saturday night, does that count at all? I love impromptu “me” time to watch movies and just do whatever the heck I want! Hope Joe had a great time on his bachelor extravaganza weekend. When’s your bachelorette party?
it WAS fun watching 13 going on 30 “together”!! yay.
Aw, I love watching chick flicks every now and then. I tend to do it when my hubby isn’t around, too
