Body Image, or: Why I Entered a Boob Contest.
(This was originally password protected, but then I decided that it’s my blog and I’ll say and do what I want. So. Here we go.)
I entered a boob contest. Lotus over at SarcasticMom.com is holding her second annual BEWB contest, and I figured, what the hey? It’s all in good fun, and all boob photo submissions have to be covered, so it’s not really that scandalous.
Anyway, let me tell you why I decided to enter this contest.
First of all, it seemed just silly enough to give it a go. To “compete” against over 40 other women, 99% of whom have boobs that are a D-cup or larger. I’m not even kidding. I have no serious expectations that I might even win this thing, but it can’t hurt to put myself out there (so to speak) and give it a shot.
Secondly, I realized when considering whether I wanted to do this or not, that I’ve grown a lot more comfortable with my body over the last year or two. I like what I see when I look in the mirror most days. I’m thankful for exactly the way God made me (like I said…most days; everyone has a blah day once in awhile, right?).
I’m honestly not completely sure what Lotus’s motivation or intent is in holding this bewb contest, but to me, it’s a chance for women to embrace their femininity and beauty. It’s a chance for all different shapes and sizes of women to gather together and say, “We are gorgeous. A-cup or triple-D-cup, we are all gorgeous.”

Well good for you for signing up and entering. I’ve always thought about entering something like this myself but never have because, well, I do kind of like my body as is as well =)

Ummm…yeah. I voted for you and I think your photo is very tasteful; however, FOR ME, it is not an appropriate thing to go do–look at 40+ sets of ‘bewbs’ (OR ‘mbewbs’ for that matter)–so, although I’m not ‘offended’ or anything, I AM too weak to vote more than once (since it says you can vote once a day)
Unless there’s some way to vote without looking?
